Living Orchid Arrangement Care

Do you have "Orchid Phobia"? Are you a "Serial Orchid Killer"?

Have no fear these tips will help you succeed!

Caring for your live orchid arrangement is very simple. Your arrangement is living, the plants are still in their nursery pots with a moisture holding medium. Covering the top of this is a carpet of moist moss and lichen. This will hold needed moisture in for 10+ days. After that, the only thing we recommend is using a clean spray bottle with water only to spray the lichen and moss (dampen it completely) Do not spray the orchid's blooms or leaves (especially at the crown)! if you get water on the leaves, use a soft tissue or cotton swab to dry it off. That's it- and please follow our suggestions for orchid placement below for best bloom longevity. Don't Hesitate to call us with any questions!
Remember our policy: If you purchase a Living Orchid Arrangement from us; when the orchid blooms fade and drop off- simply return the arrangement to us and we will replace that old orchid with a fresh blooming orchid for simply our cost of the new plant! You can have a 'perpetual' arrangement if you follow our policy... Thank You- end of orchid worry!

Our orchids don't like being put in direct sunlight or hot dry locations!

GOOD LIGHT vs. BAD LIGHT
Light is a key factor for healthy orchids. Direct sunlight may cause plants to burn, and too little light will prevent plants from flowering. Phalaenopsis (our most common arrangement plant) are low light, warm growing orchids that enjoy a north or an east, protected west or shaded south window of the home. Bright filtered light is best. Standard household temperatures are adequate (68-72º). Also, good air circulation is very helpful for orchids and all house plants in general.

Leaf color is a good indicator of the amount of light a plant is receiving. Orchids should have bright green, healthy leaves. Dark green leaves indicate that a plant is getting insufficient light, and yellowish-green or red leaves indicate that a plant is getting too much light.

ORCHIDS LOVE HUMIDITY
The ideal daytime humidity for orchids is 50% to 70%. During the summer, when the days are warm and dry, humidity can be increased by making sure the moss on the top of the arrangement stays damp. A spray bottle with plain water will do the trick.

PHALAENOPSIS; These plants are commonly referred to as "Moth Orchids" and are considered among the easiest of the orchid family to care for as well as the most recognizable. The long-lasting flowers bloom perfectly for up to three months. Phalaenopsis have become one of the most popular variety of orchids because of their low maintenance and delicate balance of poise and elegance. Shown Below are some large White Phaleanopsis Orchids, easy to care for- their beauty lasts and lasts!
